Each year CANPEX recognizes a significant event or milestone in the history of the area. The theme of the 2025 exhibition is the 200th anniversay of postal service in London, Ontario. On March 26, 1825, Lawrence Lawarson was appointed Deputy Postmaster of London, County of Middlesex, in the Province of Upper Canada. The Post Office was run out of his father's store, in the area that is now known as the Byron area of London. In the ensuing years the post office was moved five times until 1860 when a permanent building was erected at Richmond Street and Queens Avenue. That building served the community until 1936 when it was replaced by the Federal Building which became London's Main Post Office. The building still stands today, although the Post Office has moved.
